Community Health and Primary Care Manager and Senior Physiotherapist for Canowindra and Eugowra Health Service, Ash Wright has been named the Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) Allied Health Leader of the Year.

Mrs Wright received the award at a ceremony on Monday and thanked staff in Canowindra and Eugowra for their efforts

"None of us can be a leader without a great team around us, going along with you along the way," she said.

"I'd particularly like to acknowledge Canowindra Health Service and Eugowra Health Service which I've obviously been a part of for many, many years.

"I think we really strive to provide that excellence in health care and it's all about our patients and our communities and working really well together."

Mrs Wright also thanked WNSWLHD for their continued support.

"On a district level, I do think we're an amazing district and I feel really proud to work in our district," she said.

"I think we provide excellence in health care in many, many facets.

"There's always opportunities to improve but I'd like to thank WNSWLHD for all the opportunities that they have provided for me personally and for our team."

Ash commenced at Canowindra in 1997 as a Physiotherapist and has more than 25 years of experience in this field previously working at Dubbo, Coonamble, Parkes and overseas.

She completed a Clinical Leadership Program in 2012 and a Diploma in Leadership and Management, before taking on the Community Health and Primary Care Manager for the past five years.

Western NSW Local Health District says she has been instrumental in the development of Structured Interdisciplinary Bedside Rounding at Canowindra Health Service.

This model is frequently reviewed in light of what we can offer the patient and team and Ash has been the driver for this.

Ash embraces the Living Well Together framework and is excellent at rounding with her team, clients and other services across the community services she manages.

She sees the value in gaining their knowledge, opinions and acting on the results to improve outcomes. Ash is a strong collaborator and because of this, has encompassed a positive, strong team culture.
