The major flood level at the Iron Bridge is 10.55m and it's still short of that at this stage, but The Advocate will share this morning's flood bulletin when published with updated predictions.
The roads from Forbes to Eugowra (Escort Way), Cowra (Lachlan Valley Way), Grenfell (Henry Lawson Way) and Bedgerabong (Bedgerabong Road) have already closed with water and local roads are impacted as well.
Forbes has been humming with emergency service personnel and volunteers here to help, and community members have turned up to the local SES depot in numbers to help fill sandbags.
But Forbes Mayor Phyllis Miller described the progress of the water as "like a snail's pace" on Tuesday and it feels like that for some of those waiting to see which way the water goes when it reaches town.
