With Wednesday afternoon's 12mm storm the official airport figures for 2021 surpassed the 944mm recorded in 2010.
The airport rainfall tally for Forbes - from the Bureau of Meteorology website - now stands at 965.7mm for this year, that's up to 9am on Thursday November 25.
That only leaves the 1130mm or more than 45 inches recorded at the Camp Street Bridge, where records date back to 1876 on the BOM website, as a wetter year.
Just two other years - 1956 and 1973 - have seen more than 900mm or 36 inches on the record books.

Perhaps the shock of it has come in the contrasts of the past five years.
In 2016, Forbes saw flooding with 692.4mm or shy of 28 inches of rain locally, but that backed onto a few years of rainfall ranging from 419 to 692mm of rain.
The airport records for 2017 are incomplete, but we know it was the beginning of three harsh years of drought and 2018 and 2019 recorded just 320.4 (shy of 13 inches) and 236mm (nine and a half inches).
Recovery began in 2020, which actually saw more rainfall than 2016 at 794mm, and Wyangala dam at 8.6 per cent in February.
