Elders' Ian Simpson said people wanted to donate to their Christmas Toy Drive they can drop off the presents at the Elders office which will be passed onto the Salvation Army to be given out to those who would otherwise miss out.
Mr Simpson asked for those who donate a gift to indicate the age and gender of the child the present is aimed at.
While the nominal time to get your gifts in to Elders is December 10, Mr Simpson said people can drop off presents for the appeal after that date.
The Salvation Army's Major Sandra Walmsley said there will be an increased need in the region this holiday season due to the effects of floods and COVID-19.
Last Christmas season, the Salvation Army provided more than 26,000 toys and gifts to families who access their services, along with food vouchers and hampers and financial assistance to help paying essential bills.
If you are in need this Christmas season, you can reach out to the Forbes Parkes branch of the Salvation Army on 6852 2133.
