With Christmas around the corner, Salvation Army Forbes/Parkes have collected the donations left by community members at K-Hub in preparation for sending them out as part of Christmas toy hampers.

The Salvation Army teamed up with Kmart to help those in need this holiday season, operating a Wishing Tree Appeal for over 30 years.

Salvation Army Forbes/Parkes Major Sandra Walmsley said that this holiday season they have distributed over 400 toy hampers to people across Forbes, Parkes and surrounding communities.

Major Walmsley said the need is still there and they are still getting last minute calls for help.

Although Christmas is quite close, Major Walmsley said it's not too late to donate toys to the Christmas toy appeal.

You can donate to this appeal at K-Hub, Elders or Big W, Major Walmsley said.

If you are in need this Christmas season, you can reach out to the Forbes Parkes branch of the Salvation Army on 6852 2133.
