Forbes police appeal for footage of illegal bikes on local streets

Forbes police are appealing for anyone with footage of unregistered bikes riding through town to provide it to police.

Police are receiving reports of the riders in Farnell Street, Calarie Road and nearby - and have this week dealt with one young person for riding unregistered, unlicensed and without an approved helmet.

But they would appreciate anyone who has CCTV or other footage of the riders on local streets, please contact the station on 6853 9999 or visit them opposite Victoria Park.

Police also have another investigation under way after terminating a pursuit with motorbike riders in the Dorset Street area.

A male driver has been charged with possess prohibited drug (cannabis) and driving unlicensed after being stopped by police in north Forbes on Saturday.

He also provided a positive roadside drug test (methamphetamines) and a secondary sample has been sent for analysis.

Another male driver has been charged with low-range drink driving after police stopped him in Dowling Street on Saturday.

Police attended in response to calls from the community.
