The first stage of a new estate in Forbes is close to completion, with amenities and roads being installed at Alcheringa Estate.

Situated on the northern end of town, along Alcheringa Drive, the estate is expected to provide up to 16 parcels of land, each roughly 5 acres in size.

One of the developers Slay Herro said this first stage is a long time in coming and provides an opportunity to get a lifestyle close to town.

Mr Herro said they're at the point where they're ready to go and should say thank you to Forbes Shire Council who have been fantastic to deal with.

The developers said this was an opportunity to do something different and was a good opportunity.

Because of COVID-19, the development has been four years in the making, and had gone to market in early April.

"Phyllis and the team at Forbes have been very supportive and very progressive thinking council," Mr Herro said.

'We hope to have this first stage done and dusted by August, if everything goes well. The second stage will come online in August, but that will take a lot less. That will probably be done by November."

The estate includes just land packages, with the first stage price guided from $235,000.

The developers said they chose this spot on the northern part of Forbes because it has fantastic views and is flood free, as well as slightly less expensive than the southern part of town.
