Temporary waste station for Rye Park residents

Hilltops Council advises that the Rye Park Waste Facility landfill has reached the end of its operational life and is now permanently closed, in accordance with NSW EPA regulations, which mandate the closure of landfill sites once they reach capacity.

A temporary waste transfer station has been established at the Rye Park Waste Facility to allow for continued household waste disposal.

Transfer bins will be collected twice weekly - every Tuesday and Friday - with all waste transported to Boorowa for processing.

Permanent transfer station arrangements will be confirmed in consultation with the community and implemented as part of the five-year plan for waste services endorsed by Council at its April 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting.

Important Information for Residents:

Bulk waste items - including green waste, construction materials, fencing wire, steel, whitegoods, cupboards, sofas, and mattresses - must be taken directly to the Boorowa Waste Facility located at 12 Tip Road, Boorowa.

The Rye Park Waste Facility is monitored 24/7 via security cameras. Fines will apply for illegal dumping or non-compliance with Council and NSW Government regulations.

Hilltops Council remains committed to environment protection and regulatory compliance. We appreciate your cooperation during this transition.
