A small break between columns has left plenty of news to catch up on for Cowra’s croquet team, including an important notice regarding the winter season games, which will start at 1:15pm, instead of 2:15pm.
Wednesday 7 May
Chris and James played Heather and Helen in a very challenging game. Chris and James led the way with Heather and Helen hot on their heels. Some wonderful hoops were shot and the strategies were well lanned. In once case Chris and James got the upper hand and finished 26-14. Congratulations to Heather and Helen for being such challenging opponents.
It was also a great game between Jenny and Mona, and Jan and Carmel. All started well with a few good challenges between both teams. Jan and Carmel managed to get in front, but Jenny and Mona were close behind. Eventual winners were Jan and Carmel, pegging out with 26 to Jenny and Mona finish with 13.

A great game of golf between Carmel and Jenny, and Anna and April. It was necka nd neck right up to the end, before anna scored the winning shot.
Wednesday 19 May
Everyone has been exhausted after our excellent multi-club Friendship Day on Tuesday. Only Jenny, Mona and James turned up for the usual Wednesday session. Despite it being very mainly a training session, it was quite a close same with some very fine shots, plus a little of the usual ‘Keystone Kops’ shenanigans. The final results was 19 to 17, in favour of Mona and James. The game was declared for time expired, much to the disappointment of Jenny, who had led for most of the game.
Four women turned up for play on a very cool, windy, afternoon. Jenny and Carmel played Elaine and Heather in a close game. We finished with a score of 24 to Elaine and Heather, and 21 to Jenny and Carmel.
