Two valued members of the Cowra Family History Group have been recognised at the 2025 Central West ceremony of the Volunteer of the Year awards held at the Orange Ex-Services Club.
Congratulations go to treasurer Judie Eddington and librarian Benedetta (Bernie) Parasmo.
Both ladies are active members, working on a variety of other projects for the group on a weekly basis, in addition to their main roles.
The Centre for Volunteering hosts the NSW Volunteer of the Year awards to help promote and support volunteering across NSW.
The awards are now in their 19th year and celebrate the work of thousands of individuals and volunteer teams from a diverse range of organisations across the state.

The Cowra Family History Group, which can be found in the Cowra library, has a room packed full of incredible genealogical resources.
More volunteers are needed to join the great team and visitors are always most welcome to come and have a look, seek help to research their genealogy or perhaps purchase one of our publications about the people of our town.
Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are the best days to connect with the team, between 10am and 3pm.
Monthly meetings are held in the Nguluway Room behind the Library at 2pm on the first Saturday of the month, with visitors welcome to attend.
