Nerida Cuddy introduces her new album and companion book in a concert with a difference. This reflective event is based on Nerida's new album In the Midst of the Dark and companion book. Tickets are $20 through humanitix or at the door, at 7pm at the Perenialle events space in Canowindra.

COWRA CREATES EXHIBITION

Saturday, 25 October to Sunday, 9 November

Cowra Micro Gallery will host this exhibition of community art, facilitated and delivered by Shani Nottingham. To be part of this, pick up an A5 card at one of the "creation stations" around town - including Council Council foyer, visitor information centre, headspace, men's shed, galleries and neighbourhood centre - and deliver back by Monday, 20 October.

COWRA MOTORCYCLE RACING CLUB

Sunday, 26 October

Cowra Motorcycle Racing Club's dirt track club day is on Sunday, 26 October. Enter now via Ridernet - entries close midnight Thursday, 23 October. No late entries. On the day, gates open 7.30am at Purcell Drive Woodstock, scrutineering 8-9am with rider briefing 9.15am. Full canteen facilities on the day.

Mid Lachlan Landcare is inviting the Cowra community to a morning of surveying and picnicking as part of the Great Southern Bioblitz, at Cowra's Nature Based Adventure Playground from 9.30am to 12.30pm. A bioblitz is a citizen science event where scientists and the public work together to record and identify as many different species as possible in an area over a set time. Bring your picnic and join in! It's free but please book online through events.humanitix.com

CABONNE FAMILY DAY CARE PLAYGROUP

Cabonne family day care runs a free, fortnightly playgroup from 10am to midday at St Edwards School Hall, Canowindra, on Mondays during the school term. There is indoor play with craft, books, construction, home corners, investigation and sensory play; as well as outdoor play including bikes, sandpit, climbing equipment and more. BYO water, morning tea etc.

The Moorbel Hall markets are a monthly market where people can purchase home cooked cakes and slices, jam and pickles and much more. There is an array of fresh food including sausage or rissole sandwiches, egg and bacon rolls, and more on offer between 9am and 1pm. The hall is air conditioned so a good place to grab a Devonshire Tea/coffee and have a chat with your friends.

Canowindra is celebrating 150 years of public education and it's all happening at Canowindra Public School on Saturday, 1 November between 11am and 2pm. The opening ceremony will be in the school hall, admission is free, with displays and the opening of time capsules.

SPRING FLING CARNIVAL

The 2025 Spring Fling Carnival is set to bring our community together with entertainment, food, and activities for all ages. This year’s program features live music, market stalls, rides, and plenty of family friendly attractions. Local groups and businesses will also showcase their talents and products, making it a great chance to support our region. It's happening from 5pm to 10pm at Canowindra Sports Complex. Cost is $5 (children under two years free).

Canowindra High School celebrates 50 years as well as 150 years of public schooling in Canowindra with an open day and picnic brunch between 8am and midday. Admission is free, walk through the school and browse displays. Copies of books published to celebrate the centenary of publication education in Canowindra 1875-1975 and the last 50 years of public education to 2025 will be for sale.
