Working together to share dignity

Recently Canowindra Connections Centre and Canowindra Country Womens Association Branch worked together to put together Dignity Bags.

These dignity bags were then donated to Canowindra Hospital to be given to patients when they are admitted to ensure they have essential items for their stay, particularly unexpected hospital visits.

"We have put these bags together for people who arrive at hospital with no possessions," CWA President Cathy Smith said.

The bags contain soap, shampoo, toothbrush and paste, brush or comb and a pair of undies.

The bags are reusable and made by members of the CWA and both organisations have contributed to the items," Ms Smith said.

Canowindra Connections Centre and Lawrences IGA Canowindra are working together this year to raise donations to put together Christmas Hampers for those in need in the Canowindra Community.

The Buy 2 Donate 1 campaign has started with locals and visitors encouraged to shop for Christmas this year at IGA and other local stores and then bring donations in to IGA to place in the donations trolley located near the front of the store.

Donating is made easy as community members are encouraged to shop for your Christmas table locally and just buy an extra item that can be donated without even leaving your local IGA.

Canowindra Connections Centre is excited to partner with IGA in to provide help via Christmas Hampers this year.

Shop local and support local families. Just Buy 2, Donate 2.
