The exhibition will be held at the school hall and will feature artworks by students, local artists and well-known community members.
All artworks will be for sale on the night, with the community members’ artworks up for auction, which is expected to be hotly contested.
The event is to raise money for new play equipment at St Laurence’s.
The organising committee have decided to open up it up to students who wish to donate their own artwork to help raise money, on top of the artwork they create at school for the exhibition.
Students have been busy preparing for the exhibition by painting cardboard boxes to be used as totem poles to display the artwork on the night.
They even got to throw paint balloons and sponges at the boxes, as well as use spray bottles to create a communal masterpiece.
Organiser Michele Smith said all students will be involved in painting the backdrops.
“We want to make it a bit three dimensional and have things hanging from the ceiling, she said.
“It gives them a bit of excitement about it – it’s not everyday that they get to throw paint balloons.”
Forbes Shire Councillor Jeff Nicholson helped out with the painting on behalf of council.
All members of the community are invited to attend the exhibition, which starts at 7pm on Friday, August 22.
The event is BYO drinks with canapés provided and a free drink on arrival.
