The first activity is a Safer Drivers Course for Learner Drivers, which is run in conjunction with Orange PCYC, on Monday, September 26 and Tuesday, September 27 at the Jemalong Regional Education Centre.
To be eligible to register you must have your learner driver’s licence, already completed 50 hours of on-road driving experience and be available for the entire duration of the course.
The first module of the course is a three-hour facilitated group discussion on how to manage risks on the road. The second module is a two hour in-vehicle coaching session to develop low-risk driving strategies.
The cost for the program is $140 and those who complete the course will receive a credit of 20 hours in their logbooks.
Bookings are required for the course and can be made by calling 6360 2249 or emailing orangesdc@pcycnsw.org.au.
On Tuesday, September 27 and Wednesday, September 28, there will be a two day Pop-Up Art Workshop at the Forbes Youth and Community Centre.
The workshop will run from 10am to 4pm and is open to all youth with the work produced to be displayed in the Youth and Community Centre.
The cost is $15 per person, with all materials and morning tea provided.
On Friday, September 30 there will be a Theatre Sport and Improv Workshop at the Youth and Community Centre.
The workshop will run from 10am to 4pm, is open to all youth and may provide the opportunity to proceed with regular classes. The cost is $15 per person.
On September 30, Spectacular Screenings is showing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Out of the Shadows at the Youth and Community Centre.
Doors will open at 5.30pm for a 6pm start and entry is a gold coin donation. There will be cinema-style popcorn and drinks on sale.
