Monte has interviewed 275 independent Australian artists over a show spanning 90 broadcasts.
He will be leaving the community station to work as a breakfast announcer at 2NZ in Inverell,
Monte said it is due to the encouragement and support of the 2LVR community station that he developed his skills and passion for radio.
“it’s a great start for anyone with an interest in radio,” he said.
2LVR has been broadcasting news and music for the local community for the last 27 years and is always looking for volunteers to help around the station.
Monte encouraged younger people to get involved in volunteering at the station.
There are various aspects people can volunteer to help with, Monte said, they don’t have to go on air.
People can volunteer to help out with office work, production and online content and helping with fundraising activities.
“It’s all about community involvement and engagement,” he said.
Anyone over the age of 16 can volunteer at the station by calling 0268524288 or sending an email to 97.9fm@westserv.net.au
If you want to want to give input into the station, they are currently running a survey – more on their facebook page at 97.90 Valley Radio or see them at Bankia Grove.
