Offenders forced the lock on the laundry door of a Johnson Street home and had gained access to two bedrooms before alarms caused them to leave, a police spokesperson said.
Police are investigating the theft of a black mobile phone accidentally left in a basket at the self-service checkout of a local supermarket. She returned a couple of minutes later but the phone was gone.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage that shows another woman coming through and picking the phone up.
A Samsung S7 mobile phone has been stolen from a vehicle parked at a Union Street property. Offenders smashed the rear window of the vehicle to gain access.
Fingerprints staff will be attending to carry out forensic investigations.
