Men’s Shed president Norm Haley said he can’t really put a time frame on how long it will take to get the shed completely finished, but a lot more work will be completed over the next month.
Mr Haley said there still is a lot of building to be done for the interior of the structure, but they hope to see a good amount of progress.
“We hope to get the shed in shape in the next few months,” he said.
There are hopes that the purpose-built facility will be operational by the end of the year, allowing the Men’s Shed to move from their current home at the Showground.
The new men’s shed will measure 38m by 16m, with room for the woodwork and restoration projects the group undertakes as well as for socialising.
There will be an office space, sales and store rooms, dining room and kitchen as well as disabled access toilet.
Nearly four of the shed bays will be workshop area.
