Despite wet weather, more than 60 people gathered at the Dreaming Centre for dance, games and face painting on Monday.
The River Spirit Dancers shared their culture through traditional dances.
Storyteller Larry Brandy shared stories about kangaroos and legends that have been handed down for generations.
The children made solar candle bags to glow for National Sorry Day, May 26, a day dedicated to the members of the Stolen Generation.
Aboriginal Family Worker, Natasha Harris, said children from the Learning Ladder and Goodstart really enjoyed the day.
"We are looking to keep sharing the stories and culture with playgroups and daycare centres joining our Women's Group which meets every Thursday at 11am to foster strong intergenerational relationships," Ms Harris said.
National Reconciliation Week is a time to learn about shared histories, cultures, and achievements. The theme in 2019 is Grounded in Truth, Walk Together in Courage.
