Yoorana Gunya's Taylor Bliss said they hosted their Reconciliation event on the last day of the national celebration.
"It was important to hold for our community as the purpose is to create stronger connections between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people and close the gap," she said.
"We were impressed with the response we received from the services that attended as they were really passionate about being a part of reconciliation."
The event was initially slated to take place at Lions Park, however the wet weather forecast caused the event to move to the Forbes Town Hall.
Several local community groups and organisations took part in this year's event including Yoorana Gunya, Binaal Billa, Benevolent Society, Marrabinya, Forbes Learning Ladder, Forbes TAFE, Forbes Arts Society and Catholic Care Women's Group.
Ms Bliss said they are hoping to continue to build the strength of the event next year.
National Reconciliation Week takes place from May 27 to June 3 every year and according to Reconciliation Australia, is a time for all Australians to learn about shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
Reconciliation Australia's theme for 2021, More than a word. Reconciliation takes action, urges the reconciliation movement towards braver and more impactful action.
According to Reconciliation Australia, this year marks twenty years of Reconciliation Australia and almost three decades of Australia's formal reconciliation process.
