The SES advises that minor flooding is occurring along the Lachlan River at Nanami. Minor flooding is expected at Cottons Weir Friday morning.

The Lachlan River at Nanami may reach the moderate flood level (9.70 m) Saturday morning.

The Lachlan River at Forbes Iron Bridge is likely to reach the minor flood level (8.80 m) Saturday morning.

The Lachlan River at Cottons Weir is likely to reach around 4.50 metres Saturday morning, with minor flooding.

The SES advises:

Farmers and landholders in those areas are advised to relocate livestock, pumps and machinery to higher ground. Waste and chemical containers should be located well above predicted flood levels.

With moderate flooding at Nanami: Landholders adjacent to the river east and west of Gooloogong have access problems and low-lying land start to become affected and Kangarooby Creek could flood Gooloogong-Cowra Road (Lachlan Valley Way). Detours may be in place.

With minor flooding at Forbes' Iron Bridge: The Park on Lake Forbes floods including footpaths, low lying areas adjacent to the river can flood.

With minor flooding at Cottons Weir: A number of roads are flooded including the Forbes Gooloogong road (Lachlan Valley Way) at Dukes Crossing and the Forbes-Old Grenfell road (Henry Lawson Way) at Muddy Lagoon/Bundaburrah Creek, New Grenfell Road at Bundaburrah Creek and the Escort Way - preventing access south and east between Forbes, Grenfell, Gooloogong and Eugowra. Alternative access available via the Newell Highway.

Water may be across North Condobolin Road at "Little Plains".

For emergency help in floods and storms, call the NSW State Emergency Service on 132 500. In life threatening situations call triple zero (000) immediately.

As of 5am Friday the river was at 3.46m and steady; and 7.5m at the Iron Bridge and rising; at 5.82m and rising at Jemalong Weir.
