They've gained success first at Canberra Royal and now Sydney Royal.
Mr Quirk ran the stud for about eight years from 1995, but got out of the industry.
Now, with the desire to share his love of cattle and showing with the next generation, he's reignited the dream.
In 2022 he bought four heifers from the Dubbo National Poll Hereford Show and Sale and started Pinnacle Poll Hereford Stud back up again.
One in particular caught his eye that sale day and his instincts have just been proven right.
Llandillo Aster has now been sashed senior champion female and grand champion female at the Sydney Royal after taking out senior champion female, grand champion female and supreme Hereford exhibit at the Canberra Royal four weeks prior.
Her progeny Pinnacle Aster was named reserve junior champion female at the Sydney Royal and junior calf champion female at the Canberra Royal.
Adding to their success Pinnacle Poll Hereford Stud also won best maintained hereford team two to five head at the Sydney Royal.
"We probably couldn't have hoped for a better start," Andrew said.
"We knew when we bought those four heifers we brought them fairly well, they were good animals but that one in particular (Llandillo Aster) she was a top notch female at the Dubbo sale.
"She probably wasn't everyone's cup of tea at the time but I thought she'd go on to be probably the best cow we'd buy.
"She had maternal traits we thought we would carry on into the future, she's very true to type, very feminine and has some good attributes."
Andrew remembers showing cattle when he was younger and now wants to provide that opportunity for his children.
"There's junior shows where they can go and do junior cattle judging, parades, learn about public speaking and make friends along the way," he said.
"I still have a couple of lifelong friends that I met through showing cattle so that's what I want for the kids, they can make connections.
"Even though I was out of it for the best part of 20 years or more you go back into it and there's still some of the faces that were there 20 years ago.
"It's good to be back and it's good to have some success in the first couple of years of kicking it back off. Part of the plan was to see if the cattle were good enough, if the cattle bred well enough, to give them the exposure they need."
Why Herefords?
"Herefords are a breed that I'm familiar with, they're good easy going cattle," Andrew said.
"When things get tough they still do well in harsher conditions, they're suitable for all different sorts of climates."
Following on from a successful start to 2024, Pinnacle Poll Hereford Stud will have a bull up for auction on Tuesday, June 4 at the Dubbo National Poll Hereford Show and Sale.
This bull is from the grand champion cow (Llandillo Aster) and full brother to the reserve junior champion (Pinnacle Aster).
We couldn't have hoped for a better start.
