Over the last 27 years volunteers have donated more than 32 million hours at over 171 thousand locations across the country.
Together they have removed the equivalent of 344 thousand ute loads of rubbish.
And Chairman Ian Kiernan says the day is more important than ever as consumers become increasingly reliant on single-use items.
“I urge you to get your friends, family, team mates and colleagues together and sign up for 2018 Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday 4 March,” he said.
In Forbes, the Clean Up is being coordinated by Forbes Shire Council, so bring your friends and family, pull on some gloves and help to keep Forbes beautiful!
Registration will begin at Victoria Park from 8:30am, with the official clean up from 9am – midday at several locations.
Council will be running a free lunchtime barbecue afterwards at Victoria Park to thank you for your hard work.
