Last Saturday the new Rural Fire Service Shed at North Bangaroo was opened by The Hon Sam Farraway MLC.
As part of the official proceedings, Bruce Noble was presented with Life Membership of the Eulimore and Mt Pleasant Brigades for his lifetime of work to these brigades.
Bruce was also Group Captain, a position which has now been taken on by Matthew Parker.
The North Bangaroo Brigade was formed in 1947 with Ernest Oswald Hughes appointed as Captain. The Brigade was opened by the late Mayor Charlie McCarron.
Fire management during the early period of the brigade was a small tank and hand operated pump, along with wheat bags. As time went on the Brigade received tanks with engines.
Today, the brigade's Fire Captain is Wayne Hughes.
