The council is looking for clubs, schools, workplaces and groups to put together weird, wonderful and wacky entries for this year's January 26 event.
The parade is scheduled for 6pm on Australia Day, travelling down Lachlan Street to Lions Park.
Registrations of both floats and volunteer parade marshals are needed by close of business on January 17.
All participant information is available on the council website forbes.nsw.gov.au
There are huge prizes to be won in the form of Why Leave Town gift cards: first prize is $2,000, second $1000 and third $500. There are also five $100 prizes for kids' entries.
Plans for Australia Day 2020 start with the Rotary breakfast by Lake Forbes, continue with the Diggers swim at the Forbes Olympic pool and will round out down at Lions Park.
Acknowledgement of our citizens of the year will be capped by a spectacular fireworks display.
A new addition to the weekend is a race meeting on Saturday, January 25.
