Players, partners, family and all of the club’s life members attended the presentation night which was held at the Forbes Services Memorial Club.
Awards were given across each of the three grades and one name cropped up continually, with Jarrod Hall receiving four top honours.
Jarrod was named footballer of the year, received the John Prior Cup for best and fairest as well as being recognised as the first grade’s best forward and best player of the finals.
Jarrod has played three seasons with the Forbes Platypi and said he was surprised with his nominations.
“I was a bit shocked actually,” he said.
“I thought there were a lot of people more deserving of it than me.”
All of the awards are voted by the club players, with the exception of best and fairest which is determined through points given after every match by the team’s players.
President of the Forbes Rugby Club, Tracey Prior said the club’s performance as a whole has been excellent this year.
“We always judge a season’s success from both on and off field performances,” she said.
On field the club has made a strong appearance with the first grade making the semi finals.
The colts and reserve grades had sturdy seasons, and Ms Prior said they were both “really unlucky” to not make it further in the Blowes Clothing Cup.
Off field the club has experienced strong membership and raised $13,800 for charity through various auctions and functions.
“That for me shows that we’ve done some really good things this season,” Ms Prior said.
The night was also an opportunity for the club to farewell some big names and stalwarts of the game.
As well as coach Phil Prior and captain James King, Andrew Hubbard and Greg Moxey have announced their retirement from first grade, but hope to still have an association with the club.
The Platypi will also wave goodbye to recruit Graeme Crapper who returns to England next month.
While no offshore players have been secured as yet for next season, the club is currently negotiating with two Fijian footballers and an English player who have expressed interest in playing for the Platypi.
The Forbes Rugby Club will hold an AGM on October 30 at 6pm in the clubhouse.
