The briefing will focus on key safety issues including fuel management and the handling of partial power loss in single engine aircraft.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority says these two issues contribute to a number of serious accidents and incidents every year.
Local pilots will look at previous accidents and incidents involving fuel management and engine power loss to learn valuable lessons to keep themselves safe in the sky.
The briefing will also provide an update on new regulations, a reminder about the correct procedures to use at non controlled aerodromes and information on using personal electronic devices while flying.
In addition, the briefing is a chance for pilots to give feedback and suggestions to CASA.
CASA’s Peter Gibson says the briefing for Forbes pilots is part of a national aviation safety campaign.
“Teaching local pilots aviation lessons for life is a high priority for CASA” Mr Gibson says.
The free Forbes aviation safety briefing is on Tuesday February 21 at 6pm at the Forbes Flying Club.
