Work started last week to replace the current asphalt footpath with Council’s heritage-style pavement.
Forbes Shire Council is completing the work in three stages to minimise the disruption of construction.
Stage One is the section from 102 Lachlan St (Templar St side) to 46 Templar St. This will involve replacement of all kerb and footpath pavement. This stage is currently in progress.
Stage Two is the section from 46 Templar St through to Sherriff St. This will involve the complete replacement of the current footpath.
Stage Three is the replacement of the section of asphalt pavement from Vandenberg Lane towards the Forbes Services and Memorial Club entrance.
There will be disruption to parking, but Council will endeavour to ensure that pedestrian access to businesses remains open.
This project is expected to be completed by April 2017.
