A and B Pairs: The next game is Peter Brogan and Brian Tisdell verses John Williams and Viv Russell. The winner of that game will play Wayne Moon and Wayne Burton in the finals.
Ferguson Shield winner: The final of the Ferguson Shield was played last Saturday morning. Pete Brogan took out the title in a tight match from Daniel Tisdell. The marker for the match was Scott McKellar. Congratulations Peter, we hope to have many more players enter the competition next year.
Mixed pairs: by Leisa Burton. The club mixed pairs are in full swing with the first rounds results coming in.
On Friday Spro and Connie Skinner played Fred and Loris and Spro and Connie came away with the win 23-13. On Saturday morning in the beautiful sunshine two games where played.
Ron Thurlow and Jan Waugh versed The Tisdell team of Brian and Annette, a close game was had with the score close with Jan and Ron leading 11-5 on the tenth end.
On end 11 team Tisdell picked up a 5 to make the score 10-11 and it was game on. By the 18th end team Tisdell had won 23-15, it was a great game to watch and hard fought by both teams.
In the other game on Saturday Rob Priest and Anne Walker versed Glen Kearney and Alison Cutcliffe, Rob and Anne took off out of the gate running and never looked back on the 11th end the score was 14-8 and they played some great shots to end up 19-11 over Alison and Glen with the last end not being played.
Alison and Glen fought back the best they could but on the day Rob and Anne where just playing great bowls and couldn’t be stopped. Thank you to all the teams that have entered the comp and I will keep the reports coming in. Leisa Burton
Wednesday at One: Just fourteen players turned up and it was hard to tell the Learners from the Legends. Alf Davies and Laurie Crouch finished 21:20 against Rob Priest and Kerry Dunstan.
The score was even six times during the match. Trevor Currey and Barry Shine finished well ahead of Bill O’Connell and Col Breaden.
But that’s bowls, on another day the worm could turn. Jim Maloy, Sid Morris and John Gorton finished the day ahead of Denis Byrnes, Eddy Gould and Fred Vogelsang
Thursday arvo: Another good rollup of twenty four players were there last Thursday to test their skills. John Baass and Lyall Strudwick took on and defeated Max Vincent and Graham West in a close game.
Then there was another close game where Ron Symons and Tony Bratton who defeated Ernie Egan and Grant Lambert. Cherie Vincent and Darryl Griffiths played well to defeat Clive Herbert and Scott McKellar.
Daniel and Brian Tisdell had a win against Merv Langfield and Peter Brogan. John Mraz and Alan Affleck defeated Wayne Moon and Rob Spackman. Harvey Elliott and Brian Asimus are on the comeback trail with a win over C Cannon and Scott Kelly.
Friday night bowls: Last Friday night we played with thirty four players in great conditions. A very warm welcome to the new players. The 80’s defeated Gorto’s team.
The Three Amigos and Gunna defeated Tyre Power and Ashy, Bedgerebong Two defeated Wrights and Wrongs both teams had some new players. Bedgerebong One defeated MG and Home Run defeated HE Silos.
