Presentations will be held on November 18, after the day’s golf, which is the ‘Medal of the Medallists’.
The records will be checked, but since the resumption of ‘play the lie’ in March this year, John Betland’s three under score sets a new course record for the Championships, pipping Brian Doyle with his two under.
Things to note:
The Rotary Charity Day is on this Sunday. Group play with a 10am shot gun start. Contact the Pro Shop for details.
The Nissan Classic is set for November 11 and 12. The organising committee still need carts, so offer yours up sooner rather than later.

Saturday, October 28 is an 18-hole Stroke sponsored by The Manna Group, with the Rotary Charity Day scheduled for Sunday, October 29. More details at the Pro Shop.
Saturday, November 4 is the Monthly Medal, sponsored by Jelbarts Tyrepower. Sunday, November 5 will be the Stableford Medley.
Ladies Golf
Well done to Julie Hurkett who is once again the A grade Champion Lady Golfer at the Forbes Club. Julie played consistent golf over the four days finishing on 371.
In B grade Brianna Duncan played some great golf to be the winner on 400 whilst also taking out the Junior Championship.
Following the much-needed rain the course was a little bit tougher on the weekend and this was reflected in the scores.

A grade: Scratch Winner Julie Hurkett 371. Runner-up Heather Davidson 378. Nett Winner Jenny Fletcher 301. Runner-up Julie Hurkett 307 c/b.
B grade: Scratch Winner Brianna Duncan 400. Runner-up Ev Uphill 416. Nett Winner Brianna Duncan 305. Runner-up Gabby Alley 312.
Junior: Scratch Winner Brianna Duncan 400. Runner-up Gabby Alley 488.
Veterans: Scratch Winner Julie Hurkett 188. Runner-up Heather Davidson 189. Nett Winner Jenny Fletcher 152. Runner-up Heather Davidson 155 c/b.
A Stableford event was also held on both Saturday and Sunday in conjunction with the Championships.
Saturday’s Winner in Division 1 was Colleen Bratton with 35 points with Julie Hurkett the runner-up on 32 points. In Division 2 Gabby Alley had a great round to record 37 points with Ev Uphill the runner-up on 31 c/b.
NTP was Robin Lyell on the ninth with no one managing to staying on the 18th green.
There were 22 players and the Ball Sweep went to Gabby Alley, Colleen Bratton, Julie Hurkett, Ev Uphill, Janet Smith and Eily Hush to 31.
Sunday’s 18-hole Stableford saw Brianna Duncan winning Division 1 with 33 points and Deborah Dingwall winning Division 2 with 32 points.
NTP went to Heather Davidson on the ninth and Enid Baker on the 18th.
With only 17 players managing to make it on Sunday, the rest must have been worn out, the Ball Sweep went to Brianna Duncan, Deborah Dingwall and Janet Smith 32.
On Friday November 3 Julie Hurkett, Heather Davidson, Denise Squires, Colleen Bratton, Jenny Fletcher, Judy Hodge, Kerry Stirling and Robin Lyell will be participating Silver Teams in Bathurst. Play well girls.
Friday October 20 saw Heather Davidson, Janet Smith and Robin Lyell travel to Gilgandra to play in the regional final for the Golf NSW Medal.
The weather was wet but fortunately the heaviest rain was before and after play and with a sand base course the water got away pretty quickly.
Although none of the players qualified for the State Final, Heather came second in the Gold Division and Janet second in the Silver Division.
Wednesday, October 18 was a Pinehurst which attracted 24 players. This event was sponsored by Sarah Black and Jenny Schall.
Winners were Colleen Venables and Marie Reid with 74 ¾ while the runners-up were Kerry Stirling and Robin Lyell with 76 5/8. NTP ninth Marie Reid, 18th Heather Davidson.

Saturday, October 28 is a stroke event sponsored by Taryn’s Beauty Therapy and also the Medal of Medallists sponsored by Walkers Ag and Vet. Julie is on Cards.
Sunday, October 29 with be the Rotary Charity Golf Day. A three person Ambrose even and will be $35 per person.
Wednesday, November 1 is a Monthly Medal and Putting Competition sponsored by Terry Bokeyar Electrical in 2 Divisions. Sarah is on Cards.
For more information about ladies golf in Forbes visit www.forbesgolf.org.au. The Forbes 18 hole championship golf course is located beside the Newell Highway on the northern side of town. Since the $400,000 irrigation system was installed in 2012, the Forbes Golf Club has improved in leaps and bounds and is now regarded as one of the best country courses in NSW.
SSAA Pistol Club
On Saturday, October 21 the Forbes branch of the SSAA Pistol Club held a Centrefire match in windy conditions with eight male shooters in attendance.
Places were first Stuart McMahon, second Ken Knoakes and third Rick Orr.
In Ladies there was a draw between Pam Parsons and Carolyn Cornell. They are both showing potential I their sport. Range officers were Peter Brown and Stuart McMahon. The next shoot will be on Saturday, October 28 with a 2pm start.
