The winners of the scarecrow competition and best vegetable garden will be announced on the day.
Entry to the gardens is free, but donations towards the running of the community facility will be accepted on the day.
Anyone who has entered a scarecrow in the competition is asked to drop it off at the Reymond Street gardens between 8.30am and 10am.
There are about 30 entries expected and everyone is encouraged to come along and check them out as the winner will be judged by popular vote.
The best vegetable garden bed will also be announced on the day, there are 20 entries being judged by Darren Kopp.
There will be sausage sandwiches and cold drinks for sale. Winners will be announced between 11.30am and 12.30pm.
Don’t forget the gardens are open on Saturdays from 9am to 11am and Monday to Friday (depending on the availability of our volunteers) – look for the big red open sign to see when the volunteers are there.
The produce from the community garden beds, potted plants and seedlings, is sold.
The gardens are located in Reymond Street on the site of the old state Forestry Nursery.
