The 13-year-old boy from Rouse Hill was participating in the Ski Racing NSW state titles when he fell from his ski at high speed, about 1.50pm.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to Orange Hospital then airlifted to Westmead Children’s Hospital.
However, the skier died on Sunday.
The boy had suffered serious head and spinal injuries at the scene, police say.
“Police will investigate the matter and prepare a report for the coroner,” Cowra Inspector Adam Beard said.
“Police will undertake an assessment of the vessel and interview witnesses,” he added.
