The Macquarie Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce its first major concerts for the year, WINTER DREAMS, which tours Forbes this weekend on July 21 and Bathurst on July 22.

The program opens with the mesmerising ‘Bolero’ by Ravel which has become one of the most famous pieces of 20th Century music.
You are sure to recognise the theme and the famous persistent percussion rhythm.
The concert also showcases Sarah Ismail performing Reinecke's 'Concerto for Flute and Orchestra', and the captivating and dramatic 'Symphony #1 (Winter Dreams)' by Tchaikovsky.
Based in the Central West, the orchestra has been performing for over 10 years throughout the region and has been widely lauded for its high quality and entertaining concerts as well as its Concerto Competition and a Mentoring Program for young musicians to develop their orchestral skills performing with professional musicians.
The Concerto Competition is open nationally to musicians up to the age of 25, offering the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the Orchestra.
This year's Camplin Prize has been awarded to Sarah Ismail from Orange.
Musical Director Prem Love said “Sarah’s performance is both technically and musically brilliant.
“She is a most deserving winner of the Camplin Prize”.
The Forbes performance is in the historic Forbes Town Hall
