Forbes sporting shooters host meet for Bankstown shooters

On Sunday, August 5, the Forbes sporting shooters held a clay target shoot for members of the Bankstown sports club. Some of these members have not shot clay targets before. There were 20 members and 1 local person shot 50 targets. Some members only shot one round of 25 targets. 

Squad one: Peter Hudson 5-11 total 16; Todd Stone 14-11 total 25; Troy Singh 19-22 total 41; Sam Saliba 10-11 total 21; James Sorrenti 10-8 total 18.

Squad two: John Dacciaro 12-8 total 20; Mark Merlino 7-13 total 20; Robert Goldfinch 17-12 total 29; Scott Cook 4-4 total 8; Andrew Cooke 14-8 total 22.

Squad three: John Peacock 10-13 total 23; Ray Edwards total 9; Alan Morrin total 6; Richard Weaving total 11; Scott Walsh 7-11 total 18.

The committee would like to thank all the members who helped on Sunday to run this shoot for the visitors from Sydney.

Results of the Forbes S.S.A.A. sporting shooters .22 calibre rimfire rifle shoot on Wednesday, August 1. The weather was cool with a gusting south-westerly breeze at 20kph and a temperature of 17degrees. 

The range officers were; John Dean and Anthony Bratton.

25metre Buffalo target shoot: John Dean, 269/270; Allan Belcher, 269/270; Dennis Finn, 269/270; Paul Baker, 268/270; Lyall Strudwick, 268/270; Greame Freney, 266/270 and  Anthony Bratton, 239/270.

50metre .22 target shoot: Paul Baker, 243/250; Lyall Strudwick, 240/250; Greame Freney, 238/250; Dennis Finn, 236/250; John Dean, 235/250; Allan Belcher, 225/250 and Anthony Bratton, 205/250.

75metre Mosquito target shoot: Dennis Finn, 114/120; Paul Baker, 113/120; John Dean, 109/120; Lyall Strudwick, 108/120; Anthony Bratton, 98/120; Allan Belcher, 97/120 and Greame Freney, 81/120. 

The next  .22 calibre and other rimfire rifle (.22 magnum or .17HMR) shoot will be on Wednesday, August 15, at 3pm. The next Sunday will be August 19 at 10am.

Anyone wishing to try rifle or shotgun shooting can take part after filling out a P650 form. Junior shooters must be 12 years or over.

The next shoot for the Forbes S.S.A.A. sporting clays will be the Tim Lynch Memorial Shield shoot on August 11 and 12. On Saturday, August 11 a 75 target five stand non handicap shoot will start at 1pm. On Sunday, August 12 a 100 target off the gun field for the Tim Lynch Memorial Shield will start at 9:30 am.
