Steward of the section, Isabel Haley is looking forward to seeing the interest it creates. “Mosaics are lovely to make and lovely to look at. I think people really appreciate the work that is involved to complete a mosaic project and they are admired by many,” she said.
Driving around town you will often see mosaic house numbers or welcome signs. If you are the proud owner of one of these art works please consider entering it in the show so it's on display for the community to appreciate.
Categories have been kept simple for the first year with sections for House numbers, Stepping Stones, Welcome signs, Novelty Items and Small Tables with entry being $1. An open Junior section is also available for any item made by someone under 18 and is free entry.
Isabel is also the steward for the children's flower section this year and hopes to see the number of entries increase.
“Anything that is entered into the show for judging helps make our show what it is and it would be great to see the pavilions full and vibrant with colour,” she said.
Show schedules can be found online at http://www.forbesshow.com or get a hard copy from the Show Office or Glass Menagerie.
Entries can be dropped to the show ground from Wednesday 5th September 12pm-6pm or Thursday 6th September no later than 10am.
