The privately managed pool had to be closed earlier this year following the identification of a structural issue.
A fix was made so the pool could open again to members, but the committee is seeking grant funding to upgrade the facility.
The pool was a community project, the funds to build it were raised through local fundraisers and raffles.
Faithful volunteers have carried out water testing and maintenance over the decades since.
The committee has already met with Member for Orange Phil Donato and gained his support, unfortunately a bid for a Strong Community grant was not successful.
Committee vice president Dianne Decker has issued public invitations to the NSW Premier and now our new Prime Minister to visit and see how valued the pool is.
“The Forbes heated pool is a prime example of the community working to create a vibrant and healthy community,” Ms Quinn said after visiting.
“The dedication of the committee over the past 50 years is a true show of community spirit.
“This asset cannot be lost. The benefits of an indoor heated pool in Forbes, are huge for not only the Forbes community, but also the wider region.
“It provides a local avenue for rehabilitation, aqua aerobics, year round swim classes and training as well as added privacy.”
