The tables were set with blue and gold serviettes to reflect the colours of Probus while the centrepieces took price of place to reflect our pearl anniversary.
The centrepieces were capably made by our member and vice president Ilma Davis.
All were welcomed by President Fae with visitors coming from Condobolin, Cowra, Grenfell, Parkes and West Wyalong.
Our capable MC for the day was Jennifer Purdie, our junior vice president.
Jennifer did a great job of keeping the proceedings flowing along.
One of our foundation members Jean Coffey was given the honour of cutting the birthday cake with many of our past presidents in attendance.
Unfortunately Nan Hawthorn, one of the foundation members, was unable to be present.
A beautiful roast meal was served by the club and the luncheon was finished off with the birthday cake being served.
Our very own Forbes Shire Council provided information bags for all the visitors and they were well received.
Entertainment on the day was very well organised by one of our members and from Kristen’s School of Dance we were entertained by Emily Ragg and Lola Morrison whom each did a lovely rendition of dance.
Also on the entertainment list was the Kelly family from Trundle with Carmel and Rueben Kelly performing a duet on violin and cello respectively, while Carmel and Simeon Kelly played a duet on violin and bassoon respectively.
The Kelly family then entertained with Click Go The Shears and Home Among the Gum Trees.
The entertainment was very well received and many of our visitors gave accolades as to the presentation of the whole day.
In closing I want to remind members that our trip to Eugowra, Canowindra and coming home via Gooloogong is scheduled for Monday October 15 and cost of $55 must be paid at the September meeting which is to be held on Friday September 28 at 10am.
Our guest speaker for September will be Karen Rea from Australian Hearing.
