With the help of donations by locals and community organisations, the group has raised more than $30,000.
Care Western Lodge Orange, Forbes Palliative Care Unit and Breast Cancer Network Australia are sharing the proceeds.
The Forbes Palliative Care Unit received $15,731.50 for two mobile chairs, one bed and an oxygen concentrator (all of which can be used in the home).
The Breast Cancer Network Australia received $3,000 towards research, while Care Western Lodge Orange received $12,000.
Members of the Forbes Breast Cancer Support Group would like to thank Kerry Dunstan who donated funds from his massive charity walk to them earlier in the year, but was not able to attend this week’s cheque presentation (pictured).
The Forbes Breast Cancer Support Group would like to give a big thankyou to the staff at Forbes NRMA office for their incredible effort in raising more than $1,300 from their raffle and to the staff at Ray White Forbes for hosting a ‘pink’ morning tea.
The pink morning tea was aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer during October which is breast cancer awareness month.
Also a big thankyou to the Forbes Motor Show Committee for allowing members of the support group to man a gate at their recent show.
A cheque for $2,000 was gratefully received and all of the money received from the above efforts have been put together to purchase equipment for the Forbes Palliative Care Unit.

The Forbes Breast Cancer Support Group meets at the Vandenberg Hotel on the second Saturday of the month, commencing at 12pm.
The 2018 Christmas Lunch will be their last gathering for the year. It is on Saturday, December 8 at the Forbes Services Memorial Club at 12pm. All breast cancer survivors as well as their family and friends are invited to attend.
Each person attending is asked to bring a Christmas gift to the maximum value of $10 for the ‘Santa’ sack.
The support group’s first meeting for 2019 will be on Saturday, February 9.
The Breast Cancer Support Group will again be hosting Mother’s Day Classic next year. The Mother’s Day Classic is about raising awareness of breast cancer as well as supporting breast cancer research.
