MADD as it is affectionately known, has become an annual showcase for the School and is building in popularity every year. Its aim is to provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and to gain real world experience in display and performance. Additionally it helps to foster self-esteem and pride in individuals and builds stronger links with the wider community.
This year, the audience attendance exceeded all expectation with close to 200 parents and citizens coming along for the celebration. The Art display of hundreds of students works was enjoyed by all, followed by a greatly appreciated sausage sizzle organised by the School Representative Council.
Principal Safija Bristina welcomed guests and proudly opened the night with the introduction of the School Spectacular Dance Troupe from the Support Unit, as the first act. Acts from Drama, Dance and Music students were both amazing and entertaining and a credit to their supporting teachers.
Our dancers left the audience breathless with their skill and amazing movement ability and talents of our musicians and singers was incredible and testament to their commitment and dedication. The dramatic acts skilfully manipulated the audiences feelings from sympathy to anger, from sadness to mirth. Each of the acts and monologues were humorously introduced by the nights band of MC's who set the tone for the evening.
Ms Limbert, Mr Don Rattan and Mrs Jane Hill would especially like to thank all the students involved in the set-up, performance/display and clean up, because without their support, a night like this would not be possible. Finally, special thanks must go to Mr Bradley Lemon and his able assistant Isaac Berger who organised everything from sound, lighting and stage setup. Well done all.
