The facilitators Michael Browne and Colin Cartwright are CatholicCare Men and Family Relationship workers.
They are strong advocates for the program and say that it is easy to follow and put into action with your children.
They encourage dads, grandfathers, pops, uncles, stepdads or any significant male in a child’s life to attend.
In a statement sent to the Advocate, they explain the 1-2-3 Magic program addresses the difficult task of child discipline with humour, keen insight and proven experience in three straight-forward steps.
1-2-3 Magic is for children aged two to 12 years and though it’s not really magic, thousands of parents have sworn that the program “works like magic” – quickly and effectively.
The steps outlined in the promotional material are:
Step 1: Controlling Obnoxious Behaviour
Step 2: Encouraging Good Behaviour
Step 3: Strengthening Your Relationship
