At this year's swimming carnival Jemma Hodder, Summer Hurford, Louie Hodder and Stephanie Vonthien smashed the record set in 2001 by almost 12 seconds.
The four swimmers set the record for the senior girls 4x50m relay with a time of 2 minutes and 40.78 seconds.
The old record, set in 2001 was 2 minutes and 52.56 seconds.
This is the second long standing record that Jemma Hodder has broken after she broke Phoebe Nortnon-Knight's long standing records in the 50 metre backstroke and the 50m butterfly.
Jemma Hodder said record breaking swim was a good surprise for the relay team and that they didn't have any dedicated training sessions as a team, but all four members of the relay team are regular individual swimmers.
Jemma, Summer and Louie train with the Forbes Fins, while Stephanie trains out of Quandialla.
Louie and Stephanie said they plan to contest the relay again next year in an attempt to beat their own record.
Jemma and Summer will be heading to high school next year and won't have a chance to challenge their record.
