A series of workshops and consultations will be held around town and by the Lake foreshore so community members can share their vision for the facilities they would like to see.
The first public consultation is on April 16 at the Forbes Services Club at 7pm.
"We are very keen to plan for the future of Lake Forbes, make the Lake a more enjoyable and usable place for everyone," Mayor Phyllis Miller said in a press release issued by the council.
"And we need to look at facilities around the Lake that will not only benefit the locals but appeal to visitors to our town as well."
The concept plan for Lions Park and lighting of the footpaths around the Lake have all made their way through Council and are in the development stages.

This public consultation is to determine what other facilities and areas the community would like access to and what people love, the press release explains.
Consultation will continue on May 4 by the Lake from 8.30am and in the CBD area from 11am.
Suggestion boxes will be also available for the public at the HACC centre, Library and JRV.
"We encourage everyone to provide Council with their ideas," Mayor Miller said.
"The significance of the Lake Forbes Activation Plan is enormous and we need to get this right for everyone.
"More visitors to our regional towns means stronger local economies. It will keep our towns ticking during these tough times of drought and beyond."
