The local Breast Cancer Support Network hosts a walk around Lake Forbes every Mother's Day, joining an Australia-wide fundraiser for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
A total 63 walkers from Cowra, Parkes and the district registered for this year's event and joined Forbes walkers on a picture-perfect Autumn morning by the lake.
Together with fundraising efforts in the lead-up, they raised $5795.
Organiser Yvonne Shaw thanked NRMA for selling raffle tickets, Walkers AGnVET for a generous donation from their Big Bucks Bonanza night and Sweet Three Vintage Van for a donation on the day.
In 22 years, the Mother's Day Classic has raised more than $36 million for the National Breast Cancer Foundation's research to improve the detection, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
Just short of 100,000 people were part of the 2019 walk or run.
The Forbes walk, now an annual event, launched in 2015 and had raised $13,000 in its first three years.
