Organisers say the venues will be overflowing with an impressive exhibition of contemporary artworks created by artists either living and working in regional New South Wales or with a connection to the region.
Collaboratively curated by Steven Cavenah from Art Outwest and local artist Ro Burns, the exhibition promises to be unlike any previous exhibitions in the space, with an astounding array of sculpture, paintings, award winning designer, photography and botanical art.
"This is our fifth year presenting the River Arts Festival in Forbes and as we have changed our locality to the Victoria Park precinct this time, we now have access to the Town Hall space to present these incredible artworks. It is very exciting!" Ro Burns said.
The team at Arts Outwest will bring works created 'Out of Office', featuring Christine McMillan, Steven Cavenagh and Aleshia Lonsdale. These will be some of the works exhibited at Tremain Mill Gallery during ArtState NSW.
Some of the artists in the exhibition are Pol Cruz, Kathryn Lewis and Karen Tooth, Cheryl Hodges and Rex Press.
Lucy Vader currently has work on exhibition at the Mitchell Reid gallery in Sydney, Rhonda Sharpe is a Wiradjuri environmental artist formerly of Parkes.
Walter Brecely from Goulburn will be exhibiting exquisite sculptures made from recycled materials.
Works by Charles Wilson include his Advent Candelabra, designed for the Danish brand Menu, the candelabra consists of two cast zinc components held together by rare-earth magnets.
"The art on display has a strong sense of social, environmental and humanitarian issues," Ro said. "A call for a reconnection to land, responsible use of resources and connecting with community."
The gallery opening will be incorporated in the Arts Outwest Art Huddle from 6.30pm on Friday 14 June.
The artists will be sharing some of their stories: their processes, the benefits and challenges of working regionally as a professional artist.
