Over the next four months the community-based crime prevention group will alternate its monthly meetings between the traditional afternoon slot and evenings.
Secretary / treasurer Bruce Adams said the change was planned to give more people the opportunity to be involved.
Neighbourhood Watch has been up and running in Forbes for 35 years, they've recently launched a Facebook page Forbes Neighbourhood Watch and are seeking more community involvement.
There can be a lot of talk about local crime issues, Mr Adams said, Neighbourhood Watch is a chance to work together to prevent crime.
The Forbes branch has a whole range of educational materials about security and crime prevention, and volunteers do bring their trailer to local events.
They also have an excellent relationship with the area command's community crime prevention officer, and meetings are an opportunity to communicate concerns to police as well as seek advice.
"The important thing is that people contact police when they see something (suspicious)," Mr Adams said.
Neighbourhood Watch's AGM is in July, so that first meeting will be at 7pm on Wednesday July 3.
These meetings are the perfect time for interested people to come and find out more about the resources Neighbourhood Watch has, as well as bring ideas and feedback on how they can continue to be an effective part of the community.
Meeting times for the following three months are:
- Wednesday August 5 - 2pm
- Wednesday September 4 - 7.30pm
- Wednesday October 2 - 2pm
All meetings are at the Forbes Services Memorial Club. After that the committee will review the arrangements based on interest.
