Forbes Council will be undertaking construction works on the upper areas of the facility over the next two to four weeks, the council advised through their Facebook page.
Works are under way to build a new ramp access to the existing landfill, extending its life by about five years while longer-term expansions and upgrades are built.
Opening hours haven't changed but Monday to Saturdays, there will be restricted public access to the top of the facility and waste must be placed in the appropriate locations.
If you're unsure or have heavy items, speak to the attendant at the site office.
On Sundays, the upper section of the facility will be open for general waste disposal however the number of vehicles at any one time will be restricted and there may be short delays during busy periods.
The council is asking visitors to stay out of the work zone and follow instructions from onsite personnel at all times.
