The team finished third on the point score ladder, just three points behind winners West Wyalong, and one point behind second placed Narrandera.
The three teams led the point scores every day, with positions always close, with a gap to the rest of the teams in the division.
The Forbes representatives played at the Camden Netball Association courts on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, in the 17U division.
The team has been training together for four months, coming together every week in Forbes, and also attending all the regional training carnivals for vital match practice.
The Forbes team would be considered a young team for the 17U age division, as four of the girls are turning 15 2019, and playing up against 17 year olds, with only two players turning 17.
The team received many compliments from the umpires who were officiating their games.
The girls were often congratulated for their sportsmanship, and fair play, and their high standard, and skill level.
The team played six games each day, over the three days of competition. Exciting games were the order of each day, the parents on the sideline were kept on their toes, cheering and supporting the team.
Day one saw the Forbes girls easily defeating Goulburn, Narrabri, Glen Innes, Cessnock and a tight game against Narrandera winning by three goals, with a loss to West Wyalong.
Day two also saw good wins against Ulladulla, Scone and an exciting come back to draw against Kurri Kurri after being down by six goals at the half time break.
The teams then had to play each other for the second time, with all games counting on the point score ladder, and finishing the day with a very tight game against Glen Innes to win by a goal.
Day three supporters again saw exciting netball played by the Forbes team, with four wins, and finishing the championships strongly by defeating Scone by a goal and then Kurri Kurri by seven goals.
The game against Scone was a very high standard, with umpires congratulating the Forbes girls.
The girls have improved and worked together since being selected, with everyone trying their best at weekly training sessions, regional training carnivals and State Titles.
The team was lead by 17 year olds, Captain Fiona Howarth and Vice Captain Iesha Sinclair, with 16 year olds Aurella White, Georgia Warren, Lilly Mitchell and Mia Marjoram stepping up to the task.
Fifteen year olds Lauren Bate, Elsa Cusack, Ella Higgins and Amy Cusack all made huge improvements coming from 14 years division 2018, to take up the challenge of playing up into the 17U division this year, and equalling the standard of their older opposition.
Netball NSW Umpires committee member watching the Forbes, West Wyalong game commended Lauren Bate on her outstanding play in the centre position.
A huge thank you must go to Manager Deb Bate, who also took over the Representative Convenor role that was left vacant.
Thank you to Primary Carer Bec Howarth, scorer Claire Cusack and bus driver Graeme Howarth, and all the parents who helped to make the weekend a huge success.
The Forbes community should be very proud of the netballers who represented our town, who all displayed outstanding sportsmanship, team work and also played at a high level of skilled netball.
The team is coached by Robyn Kenny, manager Deb Bate, primary carer Bec Howarth.
