The free breakfast forum will be held at the Forbes Service Memorial Club on Thursday June 27 and will explore the current road safety and freight issues affecting the local heavy vehicle industry.
Now entering its seventh year, the forum is expected to attract around 400 attendees, and forms part of the annual road safety calendar for Parkes, Forbes and Lachlan Shire Councils.
The councils' Road Safety and Injury Prevention Officer Belinda Coe, says, "we have a variety of speakers at this year's Forum that will cover a range of topics, with a primary focus on safety as well as an update from the Newell Highway Taskforce and a review of the Heavy Vehicle National Law."
The forum will also have presentations from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, Australian Trucking Association, Transport for NSW as well as representation from the Livestock Bulk and Rural Carriers Association, Roads and Maritime Services and the NSW Police on heavy vehicle engagement.
This year's Forum will hold a panel discussion with Parkes, Forbes and Lachlan Shire Councils Infrastructure and Engineering departments, giving attendees the opportunity to learn more about the Councils' road programs.
"The Forum provides valuable information and a great opportunity to network with other local stakeholders," Mrs Coe said.
"With a closing presentation from Peter Frazer, President of Safer Australian Roads and Highways, the attendees will walk away with a personal and strong message of the importance of road safety."
