Thousands of birds will be flocking to the Forbes Showgrounds on Saturday for the Central West Bird Club's annual Bird Sale.

Over 2000 birds have been entered in the annual sale with a wide range of varieties on offer.
Central West Bird Club's Sharon Jones said there will be almost every type of birds available, from Australian natives, finches, budgerigars and two types of macaws.

The sale is a once-a-year opportunity to get some of these birds, from breeding pairs through to pets, in the Central West.
Also on offer during the bird sale is bird related products and Dr Mike Cannon is available for avian sexing or micro-chipping.
The sale will be open to the public from 10am and costs $2 entry, with under 15s entering free.
A percentage of the money raised will be donated to support the Sunshine Club, Air Ambulance and Royal Far West charities.
Along with the bird sale, the Central West Bird Club will be hosting a chicken sale.

Mrs Jones said each pen in the chicken sale will be limited to three birds.
Poultry related products and information on starting into poultry as pets or showing will be available at the sale.
Including the bird and chicken sale, there will be over 22 market stalls with a range of items on sale.
Mrs Jones said there is a wide range of stalls booked in with clothing, face painting, tupperware, hand-made jewellery and more on sale.
The event is slated to finish by 2pm, though Mrs Jones expects many of the birds to be sold well before the show finishes.
There's plenty of parking, and the Lions Club will running the BBQ.
