Transport for NSW Western Region Acting Director Jodi McIntryre said the NSW Government provided $250,000 for maintenance of the bridge which will include replacement of all timber decking.
"Paytens Bridge was built in 1926 so this work is essential to extend the life of the bridge and continue connecting the communities," Ms McIntyre said.
"Work is expected to start on Monday 2 September and be completed by the end of October, weather permitting.
"Work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm on weekdays, and may include work between 8am and 1pm on weekends.
"To complete the work, Paytens Bridge will be closed for two weeks during the school holidays, from Monday 30 September to Sunday 13 October.
"The two week bridge closure has been scheduled to minimise the impact on commuters, bus services, farmers and road users travelling across Paytens Bridge.
"Motorists should plan ahead, allow extra time for their journeys and follow the direction of traffic control and signs."
Transport for NSW thanks the community for their patience while this important maintenance work is carried out.
