Last weekend the Rotary Club of Forbes Ipomoea hosted a visit of 23 members from the Blacktown City Rotary Club.

The purpose of the visit was to provide drought support to Forbes and the district through donations of money and goods and also to support local business by shopping in Forbes.
Blacktown City Rotary Club also supported the two schools in Eugowra and both schools were visited on Saturday afternoon.
A "buddy chair" was presented to Eugowra Public School along with a cheque to be used to support the children at the school.
'We are thrilled to receive this money and it means we will be able to build a shelter for our kitchen garden area so the students can have their outdoor lessons in all weather conditions," Principal Mr Nick Doyle said.
Cathy Eppelstun, Principal at St Joseph's School, was equally appreciative of the money donated to her school.
"This money will be used to purchase new readers for our students," Mrs Epplestun commented.
"Simply Voices," a choir in Blacktown, raised more than $6,000 from a concert in support of the drought appeal.
Members of the choir, Marj and Ken Waller, said when people in Blacktown knew the concert was going to support children in a drought area they were very generous with their donations.
The afternoon in Eugowra culminated with a visit to Lyn and Hugh Ellis beautiful "Kiembah" property.
Hugh gave a very interesting talk explaining how the seriousness of this drought is impacting on farmers.
Another Eugowra resident, Ron Hayes, told of the history of the Eugowra district including stories of the bushranger exploits and how granite from Eugowra was used in the construction of the new Parliament House in Canberra.
On Sunday morning the group visited Nell's Pantry.
Sue Jolliffe explained how Nell's Pantry began and how the support was specifically for farmers. It's open each Tuesday afternoon.
Blacktown City Rotary Club presented Sue and her band of helpers with a cheque and then further surprised by also donating boxes of groceries which they had purchased from businesses while in Forbes.
Helen Pitt, President of Rotary Ipomoea, said the Blacktown Rotary Club had been extremely generous in their support for Forbes.
They have also donated 40 pamper boxes designed specifically for parents.
These will be distributed to some families from Eugowra to Bogan Gate, the idea being that the children will place these boxes under the family Christmas tree so their parents will receive a small gift which otherwise the children might not have been able to afford.
